How it all began…

1912 – Martin Sixt starts his business "Sixt Autofahrten" in a small garage in Munich with only 3 cars: 2 Mercedes and 1 Luxus-Deutz-Landaulet.

1917- The first Sixt location in Seitzstrasse no. 11. ( Munich ) appears. Today it's still the most popular Sixt downtown office.

1927 - Martin Sixt hands over the company to Hans Sixt (his nephew).

1939 - All cars are confiscated. Only 1 Mercedes is covered up secretly in a stable.

1945 — Martin Sixt dies.

1946 - With 1 Mercedes 230 Landaulet Hans Sixt starts a renewal process of the company.

1951 — "Auto Sixt" initiation.

1966 – New offices at the airports of Frankfurt am Main and Munich are opened.

1967 – "Auto Sixt" is the first German company to launch a leasing program for vehicles.

1969 - Erich Sixt joins a family business. Trucks are added to the fleet.

1976 - Regine Sixt joins the company and starts signing contracts with all major airlines hotel chains.

1977 - Sixt opens stations in all airports in Germany.

1983 - Erich Sixt starts the legendary advertising campaign: "Rent a Mercedes at the price of a Golf". The same principal "Drive first class – Pay economy" has been followed by Sixt over the years.

2012 - Sixt celebrates its 100th anniversary
